The Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 are like the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels of the Smartphone world. Two rivals who created popularity in the Smartphone world. In 2014 and 2015 two Smartphone’s emerged to the public. These Smartphone’s have been competing against each other for many years. The popularity is tremendous. Both phones are extremely popular nationwide and worldwide. Each phone is extraordinary in its own way. 

            The Galaxy and the iPhone are both manufactured in different areas of the world. The Apple iPhone 6 is an American based phone. The iPhone 6 was released September 19, 2014. These Smartphone’s are sold in three different colors (Silver, Gold, and Spacegrey). 

You can purchase the phone with 16, 32, 64, and 128 GB of memory. The iPhone 6 offers HD video recording and Slow-motion recording. It is operated by an iOS 8 system.   

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is a Korean based phone. The Galaxy S6 was released April 10, 2015. These Smartphones are sold in a variety of colors.  (Black Sapphire, White Pearl, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz, and Emerald Green).

You can purchase this phone with 32, 64, and 128 GB of memory. The layout of the Galaxy S6 is very slick. The Galaxy S6 offers ultra fast charging and an HD & fast camera. It is operated by an Android 5.0 system.  

            Both smart phones are unique, however the size and style of these phones are slightly different. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen while the Galaxy S6 has a 5.1 inch screen. The iPhone 6 has an 8 megapixel camera while the Galaxy S6 has a 20 megapixel camera.

            So what are the similarities between these two phones? Well first there the most popular phones in the market. Secondly, they both sell at around $600 and have fingerprint lock screens. They’re both scratch resistant phones, they both have front facing cameras, and both have built in memory storage. Both iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 have mobile hotspots and noise cancellation for video recording.

The competition between the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S6 is roughly the same. People who love Apple products will stick to the iPhone 6 and Samsung fanatics will stick to the Galaxy. Will the Galaxy S6 surpass the iPhone 6 because of its slicker futuristic design? 

Did its futuristic design surpass the retro design of the iPhone 6? Will this be a problem for the iPhone 6? There still the top two most sold phones. My question is in about a year which phone emerges with its popularity and takes over the smart phone world? Alfredo believes” the Galaxy S6 will surpass the iPhone 6”. He likes everything about his Galaxy and feels that the real advantage the iPhone has is its FaceTime app. Malik as well believes his Galaxy is better than the iPhone 6 because of its slicker design. But when I asked 90% of my participants which phone is more popular in the media they all responded with the iPhone 6. Jeralyn, Johnny, and Scott all believe their iPhones are better in every way. They feel they have a better battery life, better storage and a better camera. 

The Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 will both make numbers in the smart phone world, but in the future will the Galaxy surpass the iPhone or will the opposite happen. Will the bitter rivalry continue with both these iconic phones? The answer is up too Samsung and Apple.
